Lovio is a new global dating app — a Portbia venture we're building end to end to the Tóg standard, not a client site. The bet is simple: the giants optimise for swipes; Lovio optimises for real connection. It ships intention-first, anti-swipe matching that scores on values and compatibility rather than faces; voice prompts and video intros so personality lands before photos; an AI matchmaker that learns each person, surfaces genuine matches and coaches the opener; verified, safety-first profiles with real-time moderation as a first-class subsystem; and the premium features the incumbents paywall made free or genuinely affordable. It's global from day one — distance-based discovery with a customisable radius plus country and region filters — with everything real-time: presence, matches, chat, video dates and notifications. Two full brand themes ship behind a runtime switch (Lovio as the default pink-to-coral, HeyYou as the secondary) so the final name and palette are locked once the app is live. Built CMS-first on the Tóg monorepo: every plan, price, prompt, safety rule and theme is seeded in Firestore and editable from a flagship admin console. Status is honest — this is in active build, not launched; there are no live users or metrics to claim yet.
