Port Plug (Tóg venture)
Your plug, your cloud, your keys.
A self-hosted control system that brings orphaned G-Homa smart plugs back to life after the manufacturer killed their cloud — a secure backend you own plus an installable phone app, so you can switch and schedule your plugs from anywhere without any device left running at home.

When G-Homa (EverFlourish) shut down their cloud servers, a lot of perfectly good WiFi smart plugs turned into beautiful bricks overnight — the hardware still worked, but the app that talked to it was gone. Port Plug is our answer: a small, production-grade system that replaces that dead cloud with one you own and control. A hardened Node backend speaks the plug's raw TCP protocol, holds state in a durable database, runs cron-based schedules, and streams live updates over WebSocket; an installable Next.js PWA gives you a calm, native-feeling app — a molten-amber power orb you tap to toggle, live wattage, a seven-day energy chart, per-plug schedules and a full activity log. You deploy the backend once (Railway/Fly), point the plug at it one time on home WiFi, and after that you never need to be home again. It's an in-build private venture of ours, not a client engagement or a public commercial product — but it's real, working, and secure (bcrypt, JWT, rate-limiting, per-user scoping), and it's a clean proof that Tóg ships genuine IoT and self-hostable infrastructure, not just marketing sites.
An installable phone app for your plugs — a molten-amber power orb you tap to toggle, live wattage, a 7-day energy chart, schedules and an activity log, all in one calm surface.
The cloud you own — it speaks the plug's raw TCP protocol, keeps state in a durable database, runs the schedules and streams every change live, all behind real auth.
The Port Plug app
An installable phone app for your plugs — a molten-amber power orb you tap to toggle, live wattage, a 7-day energy chart, schedules and an activity log, all in one calm surface.
- Tap-to-toggle power orb with live state
- Live wattage + 7-day energy chart
- Visual per-plug schedule builder
- Grouped activity timeline
- Multi-plug carousel
- Add to home screen (iOS / Android)
The control server
The cloud you own — it speaks the plug's raw TCP protocol, keeps state in a durable database, runs the schedules and streams every change live, all behind real auth.
- Raw-TCP plug protocol bridge
- JWT auth, bcrypt, rate-limiting
- Durable SQLite state
- Cron scheduling engine
- WebSocket live push
- Per-user scoping & input validation
The details that make it special.
The manufacturer's cloud died and took the plugs with it. Port Plug stands a replacement server in its place, so hardware you already paid for works again — this time on infrastructure you control.
The plug phones home to your server, and you reach your server from anywhere. Configure it once on home WiFi and you never need a laptop or hub left running at the house again.
A next-pwa build means Port Plug installs to the home screen and behaves like a native app — offline-aware, full-screen, with a tap-to-toggle power orb that breathes when the plug is live.

“In build as a private venture — the system is real and working (backend, PWA, auth and schedules all functioning with smoke tests), proving Tóg ships genuine IoT and self-hostable infrastructure. Not publicly launched; no live public site.”
